What are my options for a new roofing system?
If you have a flat roof, you will ultimately choose from 4 major product groups:
-Conventional built-up Roof
-Modified Bitumen Built-up Roof
-Thermoplastic Single-ply Membrane
-Thermoset Single-ply Membrane
You will probably want to do some research on each of the four groups, depending upon the specifics of your structure and your plans for use of the roof area. For example, if you have a metal roof deck you are probably going to want a lightweight system. Or, if you have equipment that is mounted above and through the roof, you are probably going to look for a system that is thick, durable and puncture resistant.
